Yeeehhhawww Nash Vegas!

Howdy Pardners!

So I got to go on for Cruella last night! Poor Rach was illin', so at 6ish, I got the "You're on" call. Why did I just write that last sentence like I'm a Backstreet Boooyyyy? Dunno. So I'm writing to you from my hotel room, as I recover over a room service breakfast for $25.99. Criminey. Really Sheraton? There better be gold in them thar eggs. But I was too pooped to go out hunting for breakfast, especially when there's an American Sheep Trade show in our hotel, gumming up the elevators. It took 20 minutes to get to the 14th floor! Wish I were kidding.

Let me tell you what, I have a real appreciation for someone after I walk a show in their stilts. My bod is aching today. But I'm thankful for the workout and I had a blast with the cast. Ahhhh poetry. Speaking of which, I have a link that I'm sharing on this page. Anyone who is involved in the arts MUST watch this. It's a 20 minute speech given by Elizabeth Gilbert, the gal who wrote "Eat, Pray, Love." She talks about nurturing creativity. She is so eloquent, it's really a fantastic watch.... so here you go....

Alright, gotta go finish my $15 coffee. Hugs and kisses to blogland.

Is it the New Year already?

Ok, so looking back, I can't believe I haven't posted in so long. Originally, when I started this whole bloggin' thing, I thought I would make this a daily happenin. But the road to laziness is paved with good intentions. Life Happens. One Day at a Time. Easy Does it... and any other phrase you might see on a bumper sticker. All this rambling is to say, I've been lax in my attempts to blog and update you on tour life. So here I sit in rainy Nash-Vegas, chillaxing before rehearsal. We opened here last night, to thunderous ovations and an opening night party. It's been a while since we've had the excuse to dress up and drink. And it was catered by Rainforest Cafe! Let me tell you what, I never had the desire to eat there before, but now I do. They had a killer Asian salad. That would be an awesome character in an old school foreign horror movie.

Anyhoo, the last few weeks have flown by and it's all been a bit of a blur. After Beantown, we went onto sunny Miami. You have never seen a group of people so starved for vitamin D as our cast. We hit the beach any opportunity we got. It was FANTASTIC. Exactly what we needed, since we've deemed this tour the 101 days of rain tour. Everywhere we've been, crappy weather has followed. After Miami, we had a layoff week. I stayed in FLA and my honey came down for the week. We took our vaca in Florida on the coldest week that state has seen in 25 years. Truth. Every morning we got up to go to Disney, it was 30 degrees. People in winter clothes still flocked to the parks, but significantly less. We hardly had to wait in any lines. So that worked to our advantage, even if we did freeze on every outdoor ride.

After layoff, we headed out to Birmingham, AL.... that's really all I have to say about that. Not one of the finest stops. And the fact that a homeless man got into one of our rooms and attempted to steal a computer (fret not: the attempt was foiled) didn't sweeten the Alabama pot any. So here we are in Nashville. We are putting a new kid into the show. Gabe, one of the wee uns, left to go to Billy Elliott. Not too shabby. So we're putting the new child into the show tonight. We are also meeting our newest cast member. Our beloved Mrs. Dearly is leaving the show to make her Bway debut in Promises, Promises! Yeehaw! We will miss her so much.

Alright, enough of this bloggin hulaballoo. It's time for me to go out there and find a hootenanny. Isn't that what they do here in Music City?
