Let the blog begin!
So here's the skinny... 101 Dalmatians is being made into a musical... and guess what? I'm in it...along with some other crazy folks. I plan on, hopefully, doing a daily blog, chronicling the process of putting the show together and taking it on the road. The rehearsals, the tech, the dogs, the kids, the people, the music... ya know, the usual. It's not often that actors get the opportunity to create a role and a show from scratch.. pardon the pun. So I figured this warranted a journal. Also, touring around the country with a cast of over 30, 19 dogs, dog trainers, physical therapists, musicians and what not is bound to bring about plenty of wacky antics. Those antics MUST be shared.
So check back here at the dog blog for odds and ends and personal tales and fun. And now, my non show related thought for the day... we're rehearsing a few blocks from Penn Station... I need to go to Penn to get my train home. Glorious, right?
A few blocks away from my train station. For some reason, this few block walk is possibly the longest stretch of a walk in all of NYC. What should technically only take five minutes requires at least ten. Why oh why oh why? It is so obscenely congested with the world's slowest moving people. I don't know why people anywhere in NY feel the need to saunter anywhere.
Everyone has a destination. But for some reason, we must be in a time warp around the 34th St zone. People move slower, randomly wander... and frankly, if you want to wear mules, learn how to walk briskly in them. I'm all for heeled footwear. You'll rarely see me wearing flats. But if mules cause you to walk at a glacial pace, please reconsider.
And that is my thought on 34th. Random tangent, I know.... but isn't that what blogging is? Okay, tune in tomorrow for dog talk and random chattah.
